Refund Policy
LouisBernardPR.com
Effective from: August 26, 2026
This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains when payments may be refunded, credited, transferred, or considered final for services and products offered by [FULL LEGAL NAME OF BUSINESS], doing business as Louis Bernard ("Louis Bernard," "we," "us," or "our"). It applies to transactions made through louisbernardpr.com, by invoice or payment link, and, where stated, at our studio or retail location. A signed agreement, proposal, purchase order, listing agreement, or other transaction-specific document may contain additional terms. If there is a conflict, the signed transaction-specific document controls to the extent permitted by law.
1. General Principles
We aim to communicate prices, cancellation deadlines, product restrictions, and refund eligibility before payment. Refunds are evaluated according to the type of transaction, the work already performed, orders placed with vendors, nonrecoverable costs, and applicable law. Nothing in this Policy limits a consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be waived.
2. Design Consultations and Appointments
A consultation or appointment may be canceled or rescheduled without charge when written notice is received at least forty-eight (48) hours before the scheduled start time. When a prepaid consultation is timely canceled and not rescheduled, the consultation fee will be refunded to the original payment method.
Cancellations made less than forty-eight (48) hours before the appointment, late arrivals that prevent the appointment from being completed, and no-shows are non-refundable. At our discretion, one rescheduling credit may be offered. If Louis Bernard cancels an appointment and a mutually acceptable replacement time cannot be arranged, the prepaid consultation fee will be refunded in full.
3. Interior and Commercial Design Services
Design services are governed primarily by the signed proposal or design agreement. Fees already earned for consultations, research, measurements, drawings, concepts, sourcing, revisions, meetings, site visits, project administration, procurement, styling, installation, or other completed work are non-refundable.
If a client terminates an engagement, any refundable balance will be calculated after deducting:
fees earned for services performed through the termination date;
approved purchases and purchase commitments that cannot be canceled;
vendor cancellation, restocking, storage, delivery, return, or administrative charges;
reimbursable expenses and other amounts authorized by the applicable agreement; and
taxes or charges that are not recoverable from a vendor or payment provider.
Any unused and unearned prepaid service balance remaining after these deductions will be refunded as required by the signed agreement and applicable law. A payment identified in writing as a booking fee, retainer, or non-refundable fee will be treated according to the applicable agreement and law.
4. Scope Changes, Project Holds, and Client Delays
A request to reduce, postpone, or change the scope of a project does not automatically create a right to a refund. We will review the project status, work performed, vendor commitments, and scheduling impact. Approved credits or refunds, if any, will be documented in writing. Project holds, restart fees, and expiration of unused credits are governed by the signed service agreement.
5. Custom, Special-Order, and Made-to-Order Products
Custom, special-order, made-to-order, personalized, altered, upholstered, fabricated, cut-to-size, or client-approved products are final sale once the order is approved or submitted to the vendor. This includes, without limitation, custom furniture, lighting, window treatments, rugs, wallcoverings, cut fabric, cabinetry, millwork, art commissions, and specially sourced finishes.
These orders may not be canceled, returned, or refunded because they are produced or reserved for a specific client. If a vendor accepts a cancellation or return, any refund will be reduced by all vendor charges, freight, shipping, insurance, storage, restocking, handling, and other nonrecoverable costs. Rights relating to defective, damaged, incorrect, or nonconforming goods remain subject to applicable law and the provisions below.
6. In-Stock Home Accents and Merchandise
Unless marked "Final Sale," eligible in-stock merchandise may be returned within fourteen (14) calendar days after purchase or confirmed delivery. To qualify, the item must be unused, uninstalled, unaltered, in its original condition and packaging, and accompanied by the original receipt or other acceptable proof of purchase.
The following are not eligible for return unless defective or otherwise required by law:
custom, special-order, made-to-order, personalized, altered, or cut goods;
artwork, antiques, one-of-a-kind objects, consignment items, and floor samples identified as final sale;
clearance, discounted final-sale, or gift-card purchases;
installed, assembled, used, damaged, stained, or incomplete merchandise; and
items returned without required packaging, accessories, certificates, or components.
7. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
Inspect merchandise promptly at pickup or delivery. Visible freight damage, defects, shortages, or incorrect items should be reported in writing within forty-eight (48) hours after receipt, with the order number, description of the issue, and clear photographs of the item and packaging. Keep all packaging and do not install, repair, alter, or discard the item unless instructed in writing.
After review, we may arrange inspection and, as appropriate, repair, replacement, vendor warranty service, store credit, or refund. The available remedy may depend on the product, vendor terms, stock, and applicable law. This reporting process does not shorten any non-waivable warranty or consumer right.
8. Delivery, Installation, and Return Costs
Original shipping, freight, delivery, installation, assembly, storage, measurement, and handling charges are non-refundable after the related service has been performed, except when the charge results from our error or a remedy is required by law. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the customer is responsible for authorized return transportation and must use appropriate packing and insurance. Refusing delivery does not automatically cancel an order or create a right to a refund.
9. Gift Cards and Store Credits
Gift cards and store credits are not redeemable for cash and are non-refundable, except where required by law. They may not be replaced if lost, stolen, or used without authorization unless required by law. Any expiration or inactivity terms will be disclosed at issuance and will comply with applicable law.
10. Luxury Real Estate Services
Real estate commissions, retainers, marketing charges, referral fees, and other brokerage-related amounts are governed exclusively by the applicable listing, buyer representation, referral, lease, or other written real estate agreement. This general Policy does not change the rights or obligations in those agreements.
Fees paid directly to inspectors, appraisers, lenders, title companies, attorneys, condominium associations, government agencies, contractors, or other third parties are controlled by those providers and are not refundable by Louis Bernard. Property deposits and escrow funds are handled according to the applicable contract, escrow instructions, and law.
11. How to Request a Cancellation, Return, or Refund
Submit the request in writing to bernardinteriorspr@gmail.com and include:
the client or purchaser name and contact information;
the appointment, invoice, order, or project number;
the date and amount paid;
the reason for the request; and
photographs or supporting documents when the request concerns merchandise.
A request is not approved until we confirm approval in writing and, for a product return, provide return instructions. Merchandise sent or delivered without prior authorization may be refused.
12. Refund Method and Timing
Approved refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method within seven to ten (7-10) business days after approval or, for returned merchandise, after the item is received and inspected. Financial institutions and payment processors may require additional time to post the credit. Cash purchases may be refunded by business check or another lawful method. We are not responsible for processing delays caused by a bank or payment provider.
13. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Please contact us first so we can review and attempt to resolve a billing concern. Filing a chargeback does not expand refund rights or cancel amounts properly due under a signed agreement. We may provide the payment processor with the applicable agreement, invoice, approval, delivery record, communications, and other relevant transaction records.
14. Promotions and Exceptions
Promotional offers, limited events, samples, floor models, and specific product categories may have separate return terms disclosed before purchase. A one-time exception or courtesy credit does not change this Policy or create an obligation to make the same exception in the future.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The version applicable to a transaction is the version disclosed when the appointment was booked, the agreement was signed, or the product was purchased, unless the parties agree otherwise or law requires a different result. The current version will be posted with its effective date.
